It wasn't easy, but that wasn't the point. Ultimately, it was about a new Guinness world record - and it was achieved: 28 tournaments squeezed into a mini.
It was tight, damn tight. But that's something you gladly accept if you want to set a new world record. That there are some crazy ideas that came up at the “8. Day of the Guinness World Records”were set in London's Potters Field Park, almost goes without saying. Who else would come anywhere near the idea of squeezing 28 people into a Mini ? An East Sussex gymnastics team came up with the idea - and it worked.
28 women in a mini
On the day of the world records in the British metropolis, a total of 28 flexible gymnasts squeezed into the BMW subsidiary's small car. It wasn't the first time the East Sussex ladies have tried something like this. They had already tried it last year - at that time they were able to squeeze 27 people into the Mini and set a record.
Now they were able to beat their own record - and obviously had fun, as the pictures of the action show. Anyone who wants to create something like this has to use every millimeter of space - from the dashboard to the footwell. No less than four people were accommodated in the trunk alone.
After their record, the women even went one better - and accommodated 23 people in a Classic Mini in the ITV program “This Morning”, two more than the previous record. Worldwide on “8. Day of the Guinness World Records “more than 400,000 people worldwide took part. (AG / FM)
