The price spiral at the petrol station has picked up again. Diesel and Super reached new highs on Wednesday. The ADAC is already talking about temporary abandonment of cars.
The ADAC reports of a new all-time high in fuel prices in Germany. Accordingly, the prices for super and diesel reached absolute record highs on Wednesday. In the national average of branded and independent petrol stations, a liter of premium gasoline cost 1.466 euros, exactly one cent more than the previous peak of November 9, 2007. For diesel, drivers had to shell out 1.379 euros yesterday. The highest level so far was 1.369 euros (April 12, 2008). Responsible for the record hunt is the sharp rise in the price of crude oil, which climbed to 114 dollars (Brent) on Wednesday.
Fuel-saving driving is popular
At 8.7 cents, the difference between super and diesel is still far too small. With this price development, according to ADAC, the pain threshold for many drivers is already well exceeded. The automobile club recommends a fuel-efficient driving style and to leave the car standing for short, not absolutely necessary journeys. (AG)
