Drivers have to be prepared for a large number of traffic jams at the beginning of the Easter holidays this coming weekend. The first big wave of travel starts on Friday.
A large number of traffic jams can be expected on the German Autobahn this coming weekend. The Easter holidays begin in twelve federal states. According to the ADAC traffic jam forecast, many vacationers will be heading south or to the North and Baltic Sea coasts. According to ADAC, the following routes are expected to be heavily used on Friday afternoon and Saturday:
A 1 Cologne - Dortmund - Bremen - Hamburg
A 3 Oberhausen - Frankfurt - Würzburg - Nuremberg
A 5 Frankfurt - Karlsruhe - Basel
A 6 Mannheim - Heilbronn - Nuremberg
A 7 Hanover - Würzburg - Füssen
A 8 Karlsruhe - Stuttgart - Munich - Salzburg
A 9 Berlin - Nuremberg - Munich
A 10 Berliner Ring
A 61 Mönchengladbach - Koblenz
A 93 Inntaldreieck - Kufstein
A 99 Munich bypass
But it is not only in Germany that the highways will be tight, there is also a tight crowd abroad at times and in some sections, because our neighbors are also starting their holidays. In Austria the ADAC expects traffic jams on all major motorways and on the Fernpass route.
