The interior heating of a car plays an especially important role in winter. But some passengers in the rear have to wait up to half an hour for the comfortable temperature they are longing for.
In the icy temperatures, owners of a Mercedes CLS 63 AMG can look forward to their nimble car heater. This heats the interior from minus ten degrees to plus 22 degrees within eight minutes. The rear passengers have to wait a minute longer for warm hands and feet. According to an ADAC test of vehicle heaters in 500 models, it only warms up faster in the two-seater Mercedes SL 350, where 22 degrees are reached after just seven minutes. It quickly gets warm around the nose in the BMW 120i too. The front passengers can enjoy a pleasant 22 degrees after just seven minutes, but in the rear it takes four minutes longer.
Panda warm in nine minutes
The heating of the Fiat Panda 1.2 8V reaches the required temperature after nine minutes, on the rear seats the degrees are reached after 14 minutes. For comparison: With the Opel Agila 1.3 CDTI it takes 20 minutes or 26 minutes, to which it must be added that diesel vehicles generally need longer to warm up.
It also takes a particularly long time to heat the spacious interior of the Ford Galaxy to 22 degrees: the heater takes 23 minutes for the front area, and in the back tiers you have to wait longer than half an hour for the comfortable temperature. (mid)
