Not good news for motorists: the trip to the petrol station was again more expensive for them in May compared to the previous month - despite a slight easing in the crude oil markets.
As the monthly analysis by ADAC shows, a liter of Super E10 cost an average of EUR 1.437 per month. That corresponds to a full increase of 6.6 cents compared to April. It didn't look much better with diesel either: drivers had to pay an average of 1.277 euros for a liter. The previous month's diesel price was 1.214 euros, which is 6.3 cents less.

ADAC: Super E10 most expensive on May 27th
Drivers had to dig deep into their pockets on May 27th: According to the ADAC evaluation, the price for a liter of Super E10 climbed to 1,470 euros. On that day, 1.309 euros was charged for a liter of diesel. That was the highest level since July 16, 2015 for Super E 10 and November 14, 2014 for liters of diesel.
Consumers bought the cheapest fuel in early May. Super E 10 cost an average of 1,400 euros at the beginning of the month on May 4th, while diesel costs were € 1,240. In order to refuel as cheaply as possible, drivers should compare the prices at the petrol stations and also use free petrol stations. At the same time, a careful driving style can significantly reduce fuel consumption. (AG)
