From August 6th to 7th, 2011, as in previous years, the probably largest classic car meeting in Europe will take place in Jüchen, Neuss district. Again, the organizers are expecting around 30,000 visitors. It is important to arrive early so that you don't have to wait too long for admission.
Large-displacement classics
A special focus will be on historic racing vehicles, which you can still put to the test on the circuit. Legendary are the Mercedes Benz 300 SL, with which Fangio took second place in the 1000 miles Brescia-Rome-Brescia in 1955, as well as one of the famous Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows from 1954.
This also includes high-displacement cars from 1902 to 1924 such as the Mercedes Simplex chain car from 1902, the Itala 40 from 1907, De Dion Bouton from 1908 or the Opel racing car from 1914. 25 selected classics can be viewed on the Schwarznusswiese and ultimately over 5000 classic cars will be on the meadows around Dyk Castle be visible.
Determination of the actual color tones
Owners of their own classic vehicles can take advantage of a special kind of service. On the miscanthus field you can opto-electronically determine the actual color of your vehicle. This can be of particular importance for paintwork for preservation or restoration.
With three Porsche 550 Spyders and a Porsche 356 A, all of which took part in the Mille Miglia, "State of Art" from the Netherlands will be on display at the castle. As a "mysterious project" from the pre-war period, the Porsche Type 64 - also known as the VW-Porsche Type 60 K10 or "Porsche Test Car Berlin-Rome" is shown.
The sixth edition of the Classic Days also promises a program in which every lover of old vehicles should get their money's worth. Now the weather should play along too.
