Young adults tend to rent a cheap car on vacation. With increasing age, according to a survey, services also take on a high priority.
Almost three quarters of all 25 to 29 year olds would rent a cheap car while on vacation and accept compromises in terms of service. With increasing age, the willingness to do so decreases significantly: Of the over 60-year-old rental car customers only 38 percent accept a reduced scope of services. However, only just under a quarter of those surveyed in all age groups would forego fully comprehensive insurance without excess. This is the result of a representative survey by the market researcher TNS Emnid Media and Social Research in Bielefeld.
Value on theft insurance
In addition to fully comprehensive protection, vacationers attach particular importance to vehicle theft insurance. On the other hand, liability insurance and the desire for a rental vehicle with no mileage restrictions are less important to them. The rental car broker Sunny Cars in Munich commissioned the survey.
