If you buy a car, you pay more attention to fuel consumption. According to a recent survey, this aspect is even more important than quality.
In the opinion of car managers, car buyers are paying more and more attention to the fuel consumption of new cars. This is the result of a survey by the auditing company KPMG among 150 managers from international car manufacturers and suppliers.
According to this, 89 percent of those surveyed assume that low consumption is a decisive purchase criterion for customers. According to the company in Berlin, the importance of frugality is even just above the quality of a vehicle (88 percent). Five years ago, according to KPMG, only 58 percent of managers were of the opinion that the consumption of a new car played an important role when buying a car.
According to the information, the respondents expect the market share of hybrid vehicles and especially of inexpensive cars to increase by mid-2011. In contrast, the losers in North America and Europe are likely to include minivans, sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and large pick-up trucks. So-called crossover models and luxury vehicles, on the other hand, could keep their market shares.
