Even the Mercedes SL-Class cannot elude the tuners. Brabus refreshes the dream car vigorously.
Brabus amplifies dreams. The tuning company from Bottrop is donating an exclusive sports package to the Mercedes SL-Class. Thanks to an increase in displacement from 5.5 to 6.3 liters, the SL 600 has up to 537 kW / 730 PS and a torque of 1320 Nm, which is electronically limited to 1,100 Nm in the car.
Four seconds up to 100
In addition, a more efficient turbo system and a stainless steel high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts will be installed. Power is transmitted via a reinforced five-speed automatic transmission and a special Brabus limited-slip differential, which is available for all SL models.
This means that the dream car of many car enthusiasts only needs four seconds to cross the 100 km / h mark. The 200 km / h are reached in 10.5 seconds. Depending on the gear ratio and tires, the SL is electronically regulated at a speed of 350 km / h at the latest. This makes the Brabus SV12 S Biturbo Roadster one of the fastest sports cars in the world. It goes without saying that the chassis must be optimized and lowered by 25 millimeters.
AMG is also tuned
In addition to the 600, the SL 65 and SL 63 AMG also receive a boost in performance. 29.4 kW / 40 PS more are produced for the SL 65. After installing the Brabus T 65 S performance kit, even 526 kW / 715 PS and a maximum torque of 1100 Nm are available. The SL 63 AMG becomes even more powerful with Brabus B63 S Tuning. Sports air filters, high-performance metal catalytic converters and newly programmed engine electronics help the V8 high-speed engine to reach a top speed of 320 km / h.
The four-valve V8 of the SL 500 develops 340 kW / 462 hp with the displacement expansion and produces a maximum torque of 615 Nm at 3100 tours. For the V6 four-valve engine of the SL 280 and 350 there is the Brabus 4.0 displacement engine with 244 kW / 332 PS and 420 Nm.
LED lamps show the way
In addition to the up to 20-inch alloy wheels, the stainless steel sports exhaust system with four chrome-plated tailpipes is indispensable for a sportier engine sound. An aerodynamic kit with a front apron that houses LED daytime running lights as well as high beam and fog lights reduces lift on the front axle.
The elegantly shaped side skirts have three entry lights on the underside on each side. When the remote control is operated or the door handle is pulled in the interior, the LED lamps illuminate the floor to the side of the vehicle. With this safety feature you can avoid stepping into a puddle or hole in the dark. A rear apron attachment with integrated ambient lighting, a central reflector and two cut-outs for the sports exhaust system rounds off the optical tuning. (AG)
