The Nissan Micra is probably the woman friend at all. Five years after its market launch, the small car received subtle cosmetic changes.

Nissan has given the Micra a new make-up for its fifth birthday. In order to retain the characteristics of the small car and the open C + C, the cosmetic care is very discreet. Nissan itself speaks of a “micra-morphosis”. The minor intervention will not prevent the special target group - a good 70 percent of all Micra drivers are female - from taking part in this morphosis.
Chrome surround and grill insert
Because at first glance nothing has changed in the little one, nothing at all. Only later do the two chrome surrounds that surround the new grille insert become apparent. In addition, the headlights have been enlarged a bit so that the Micra now looks even more faithful. The lenses of the indicators were colored blue, the B-pillar was painted dark.
High-quality materials were used in the interior that were previously only available to the top model Active Luxury. The fittings were given softer surfaces, so that the feel also benefited. To further increase the feel-good factor, there were also new fabric covers and an easily accessible AUX connection for MP3 players.
Thanks to its good seating comfort, the Micra can therefore not only be used in everyday urban life, but also for weekend trips. 251 liters are sufficient for a change of clothes for two days. If the rear seat bench is folded down, the volume increases to 584 liters. Then you can hold out for a week.
Bell warns of excessive speed
A fun gimmick, which also clearly underlines the character of a “woman's car”, is the top speed that can be set on the steering wheel from the Acenta equipment variant. If this is exceeded, a bell-like sound asks to move back below the self-selected limit.
Of course, radar traps can be countered, but women are more likely to hear the bell. Since, according to statistical studies, men behave more aggressively than women at the steering wheel, this function will probably only rarely or not at all be used by their male counterparts.
Fixed in the city
There is a high risk of not adhering to the permitted speeds. Because even the engines known from the predecessor act very quickly. Even the small 1.2 liter five-door is very comfortably equipped with 59 kW / 80 hp. The 1131 kilograms are moved very quickly through the city by the horses, and the chassis acts very well on roundabouts and in curves. The bell tone remained switched off.
The fact that the Micra still needs 13.5 seconds to sprint to 100 km / h is of no interest to anyone in view of the prevailing field of application. Nissan specifies 7.4 liters of Super for consumption in the city, while the mix should only be 5.9 liters, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 143 grams per kilometer.
Good basic equipment
The new model, which is offered with four petrol and one diesel, is said to be just 100 euros more expensive than its predecessor. The 1.2-liter five-door model we drive starts with the basic Visia equipment at 12,090 euros. The Cabrio Coupé C + C starts with a 1.4 liter petrol engine and 65 kW / 88 PS at 17,490 euros.
Air conditioning du CD combination hit with 1500 euros to book, the actually superfluous parking aid with the clear Micra 300 euros. The safety package with ESP and two head airbags is available for 650 euros. A four-stage automatic costs 1200 euros. Overall, the list of surcharges is very clear, as the basic version is already well equipped. The cosmetic subtleties are therefore very discreet there too.
