The ADAC and the Stiftung Warentest warn against the use of two child seats. They would represent a security risk, so the two organizations after a joint test.
Two child seats for cars currently represent a major safety risk, according to ADAC and Stiftung Warentest. They warn against the Recaro Optia child seats in conjunction with the Recaro SmartClick Base and the Grand seat from Jané. In a joint test, the seat shell of the Recaro model came loose from the Isofix station. In a frontal crash, it flew “in a high arc through the test laboratory”, write the testers.

In reality, this could cause serious injuries to both the child and the passengers. Jané's grand seat can be used with Isofix for children up to a weight of 18 kilograms. In the event of a crash, however, the Isofix hooks loosened under the load. Both ADAC and Stiftung Warentest advise against buying these seats. Those who already have one should contact the provider.
A Recaro spokesman told the dpa news agency that the test results were incomprehensible to the company, but that the analysis of the test results had started. In the course of this, the Stiftung Warentest was asked to transmit the data relevant to the analysis. "Unfortunately, we have so far not had any access to this important information," said the spokesman. In all previous tests, the described error pattern was not found. "We must first identify and understand the causes of a possible error pattern before we take any further steps."
