A7 and S7, S6 and S8 - Audi is presenting numerous innovations in its range at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. Instead of ten, there are now eight cylinders including cylinder deactivation, which are much more economical.

Audi presents a sporty S version of the luxury class coupé A7 for the first time. The S7 celebrates its premiere at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, as the manufacturer announced. At the same time, the Ingolstadt-based company will be showing the new sports models S6 and S8 at the trade fair (September 15 to 25). All three model series get a refined equipment, sportier chassis and a new V8 engine. Sales of the new S models start at the turn of the year. Audi has not yet provided any information on prices.

Double turbocharging

In the S6, which is available as a sedan and station wagon, and in the S7, the 4.2-liter V8 engine has an output of 309 kW / 420 hp. Limited to a top speed of 250 km / h, it sprints from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.8 to 4.9 seconds, depending on the body variant. Thanks to direct injection, double turbocharging and cylinder deactivation, fuel consumption has been reduced by 25 percent compared to the previously used V10 engine and is now 9.7 and 9.8 liters. This corresponds to CO2 emissions of 231 and 232 g / km.

In the Audi A8, the engine even goes to work with 382 kW / 520 PS and is up to 100 km / h in just 4.2 seconds, and it is also limited at 250 km / h. The consumption of the S8 is at least a good 20 percent to 10.2 liters (CO2: 243 g / km). (dpa)
