Last month, Skoda increased its sales by 15.5 percent with 89,600 vehicles delivered worldwide. The VW subsidiary has never been able to sell so many cars in April.
The VW subsidiary Skoda continues to grow. In the previous month, the Czech carmaker was able to increase its deliveries by 15.5 percent to 89,600 vehicles, as the company announced on Monday. For Skoda it was also the best April in the company's history. The Skoda Octavia, which grew by a third in Europe, had a decisive influence on this increase in sales, and in Western Europe the model even increased by almost 60 percent.
“We are pleased to be able to continue the positive trend of the last few months. Our attractive and young model range inspires more and more customers. With the best April ever, we seamlessly continued our sales record of the first quarter,”said Skoda Sales Director Werner Eichhorn.
Octavia G-TEC is coming
The VW subsidiary is also relying on further growth in the coming months. The new Skoda Octavia G-TEC will be launched in May before the Octavia Scout will follow in summer. In addition, the Czechs are launching the Yeti, Rapid Spaceback and Citigo on sporty Monte Carlo models. The launch of the Octavia on the Chinese market in the first half of the year is likely to have a particular impact on sales figures. In China, the brand's strongest single market, sales rose by 7.6 percent to 21,900 vehicles.
In Western Europe, deliveries for Skoda increased by 22.1 percent to 36,600 vehicles. Things went particularly well for the Czechs in Germany, where sales rose by 16.2 percent to 12,900 cars. With this, Skoda further expanded its position as the most successful importer. (AG / FM)
