After the increases in April, the prices for diesel and petrol fell again in the first two weeks of May. Furthermore, you should refuel especially in the evening hours.

The first two weeks of May resulted in a noticeable drop in prices at the petrol pumps. After the fuel prices had risen sharply, especially towards the end of April, the costs are now falling to the pre-Easter level.

Price comparison can be worthwhile

Compared to the previous week, the price for a liter of Super E10 was, according to the ADAC, an average of 1.522 euros and thus 1.2 cents lower. A liter of diesel costs an average of 1.367 euros, which is 0.9 cents lower.

However, the traffic club points out that the regional fuel prices can sometimes differ significantly from the average. A liter of diesel at some filling stations in Berlin this week only cost 1.31 euros, but two kilometers further on it also cost 1.36 euros. So the price comparison between the gas stations is still worthwhile. According to the ADAC, refueling in the early evening hours is particularly worthwhile, while experience shows that the price level at the petrol pumps is significantly higher at night and in the morning.
