Fuel-saving world champion Gerhard Plattner has once again set a new record. The Austrian covered the distance of 2006 kilometers in a Skoda Fabia GreenLine on just one tank of fuel.

Gerhard Plattner has just once again demonstrated what a prudent driving style can mean for fuel consumption. The fuel-saving world champion covered a distance of 2006 kilometers in a Skoda Fabia GreenLine on just one tank of fuel.

Plattner drove from Reutte in Austria to the Danish town of Bov and back. With a consumption of just 2.21 liters per 100 kilometers, the fuel-saving world champion managed to significantly undercut the official European standard consumption of the small car.

So that there was no doubt about the result of this fuel-saving tour, the refueling before the start and the entire journey were monitored by the International Police Motor Corporation (IPMC).

Prime example of efficiency

“Our models are some of the most economical vehicles on the market, and at affordable prices. This is what our second-generation GreenLine models stand for. Gerhard Plattner's drive proves this very impressively and shows what innovative technology and economical driving can do together,”said Skoda Development Director Eckhard Scholz.

Plattner praises the fuel-saving models of the VW subsidiary after the record drive. They are a prime example of “efficient driving. Given the current fuel prices, this is not only important for your own wallet but also for reducing the environmental impact,”says Plattner. (AG)
