In the past few weeks, fuel prices have only known one direction: they are pointing up. But for the first time, drivers are benefiting from the falling price of crude oil.
In the opinion of the ADAC, however, due to the falling prices on the crude oil market, there should be an even more significant reduction for motorists. For example, a nationwide average of 1.491 euros has to be paid for one liter of Super E10, which is 3.5 cents less than in the previous week.
Drivers of a diesel can look forward to it: after diesel had become more expensive than average in recent weeks, you currently have to pay 1.388 euros for a liter. This corresponds to a decrease of 4.5 cents. This puts the price range between the two varieties back at over ten cents.
ADAC considers prices to be excessive
The automobile club still considers these prices to be excessive. The ADAC points out that since the beginning of October a barrel of Brent crude has become cheaper by almost 30 percent from around 85 to 60 dollars. Still, petrol and diesel cost roughly the same today as they did two months ago.
Therefore, the ADAC recommends paying attention to the regular fluctuations in fuel prices during the day. Fuel costs the least between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
