From November, Dortmund will join the Ruhrauto-e electromobility project. Six Opel Ampera in the look of the local Borussia are already cruising the streets of the beer metropolis.
Opel gives Ruhrauto-e an early start in Dortmund. While the city of Dortmund is joining the electromobility project from November, the manufacturer from Rüsselsheim and the Borussia football club have already set standards beforehand. In the coming months, six Ampera in the colors of BVB 09 will be chauffeured through the beer metropolis by BVB sponsor partners.
40 electric vehicles in use
The electric vehicles can be tested by the end of the year. The 1909 euros paid by the sponsoring partners for the test phase go to the BVB foundation "light up!" Under the motto "BVB electrifies Dortmund".
The cities of Oberhausen, Essen, Bottrop, Bochum and Gelsenkirchen are already taking part in the Ruhrauto-e project, Dortmund is now following, and the University of Duisburg-Essen accompanying the project is holding talks with the city of Mülheim. 40 electric vehicles are currently in use. In addition to the Ampera, the Smart Electric Drive, the Renault Twizy and the Nissan Leaf can also be rented and experienced. (AG)
