The new Triumph Tiger 1050 looks chic. The British have given the bike a very successful makeover.
Triumph has redesigned the Tiger. Since the British motorcycle manufacturer first presented this machine in 1994, it has gained a real fan base. Now the British are sending the brand new Triumph Tiger 1050 into the race for market share in the highly competitive motorcycle market.
Sleek impression
The Tiger 10590 makes a sleek, dynamic, but also compact impression. The facelift was obviously good for the bike. As the manufacturer announced, the Tiger should offer extremely relaxed ergonomics, a comfortable seat, a smooth motor and, last but not least, a high-torque motor. Even after longer tours, you should still be able to reach your destination relaxed. The extremely upright seating position gives the driver a very good overview.
The heart of the Tiger is a 1050 cc three-cylinder engine with fuel injection. This engine is already doing its job in the Sprint ST and the Speed Triple. The motor has 115 hp at 9400 revolutions per minute. The maximum torque of 100 Nm is at 6250 tours.
New landing gear
A new light metal bridge frame and a new light metal swing arm are used on the Tiger 1050. The Tiger also has new cast light alloy wheels in 17-inch format. The Triumph is equipped with 120/70 ZR17 tires at the front and 180/55 ZR17 tires at the rear. According to the manufacturer, a fully adjustable 43 mm upside-down fork and a central spring strut with spring base adjustment as well as adjustable rebound stage damping should ensure optimum ride comfort.
The seat height of the Tiger is 835 mm, the dry weight is very low 198 kg. The tank volume is 20 liters. The new Tiger will be available in four colors (Caspian Blue, Phantom Black, Scorched Yellow and Fusion White). An ABS is also available as an option.
