Nissan crosses the Leaf with the Navara. The pickup, which was actually intended as a pure team building measure, was so convincing that it will not spend its days in the showroom.
Nissan pioneered the crossover trend. With the Sparky, the brand has now taken the mix of different vehicle types to extremes: The one-off built by the engineers at the Group's own test center in Arizona combines elements from the Leaf e-car with those from the Navara pick-up.
Nissan Sparky acts as a workshop trolley
In the course of the renovation, the roof behind the driver's seats was quickly flexed off, the rear seat removed and replaced with a loading area taken over from Navara. The trunk flap was shortened and mounted with the lower end on the loading edge. The standard electric motor with 80 kW / 109 PS continues to provide the drive.
The project was originally intended as a pure team building measure, but the result obviously works so well that the electrically powered flatbed truck is now being used as a workshop vehicle on the test site. (SP-X)
