Opel is celebrating two German premieres at the AMI in Leipzig: In addition to the Adam Rocks small car, the Rüsselsheim-based company is also presenting the Astra OPC Extreme Concept.
The Rüsselsheim-based car manufacturer Opel will present two German premieres at the AMI in Leipzig from Friday next week: the Adam Rocks small car and the Astra OPC Extreme Concept, as the company announced on Wednesday.
The Adam Rocks, equipped with a soft top, will then have a new design and a technical innovation under the body: the 1.0 turbo injection. The new three-cylinder engine will be available with 90 and 115 hp. The newly developed unit, which has a maximum torque of 166 Nm, will gradually find its way into the other Opel models. Consumption is just 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers.
More than 300 HP in the Astra OPC Extreme
The Astra OPC Extreme Concept shows that Opel not only masters efficiency, but also sportiness. It will be presented to tens of thousands of Opel fans at the world's largest Opel meeting in Oschersleben before the AMI public days, which begin on Monday (June 2). The Extreme has more than 300 horsepower. The GM subsidiary is also showing what has happened in terms of engine technology at Opel with the Astra, which uses the new 1.6 CDTI turbodiesel.

This engine is already doing its job in the Zafira Tourer as well as in the new Meriva. The 1.6 CDTI with 136 hp and a maximum torque of 320 Newton meters has been available in the Astra five-door and Astra Sports Tourer since March. The limousine will follow from June. The whisper diesel has a consumption of just 3.9 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers. The 110 hp version is even more efficient with an average of 3.7 liters per 100 kilometers. Another highlight of the Opel stand is the close-to-production Adam S, which is powered by a 150 hp 1.4 turbo engine. (AG)
