An Audi spokesman confirmed to the dpa on Saturday in Munich that a decision would be made over the next three years on the location, the models to be produced, the amount of investment and capacity. He did not want to confirm information from "Automotive News Europe" from corporate circles, according to which an engine and transmission plant in the USA had also been decided.
Increase in model variants to 50
According to the report, Audi is aiming for a return on sales of eight to ten percent by 2020. With a view to the Audi “Strategy 2020”, Stadler also announced that it would increase the number of model variants from the current 38 to 50. More than two million cars should be sold annually by 2020 - the target of 1.5 million cars originally set for 2015 should be achieved by 2014.
