The discounts for new cars in Germany are increasing again according to a press report. The CAR Discount Index, which measures the extent of hundreds of sales promotions, has never counted so many publicly advertised manufacturer campaigns with price advantages of 20 percent and more since its introduction with 53 open discount campaigns. in this country as a special model with discounts of up to 19 percent. The increase in discounts is a sign that the end of the upswing in the German car market is looming. The high level of uncertainty in Europe and the USA with all its economic effects is dampening the desire to buy new cars in Germany ??, quoted the newspaper auto expert Ferdinand Dudenhöffer from the University of Duisburg-Essen.
In August the German car market had the strongest increase in sales in the EU countries with an increase of 18 percent. But the German car market is significantly weaker than the registration figures suggest, said Dudenhöffer.
