Mobility is changing - and with it the appearance of vehicles. Rinspeed presents its future mobile Oasis at the computer fair CES in Las Vegas in January.

In the future, the car will not look like it does today, as Mercedes had already shown two years ago at the CES computer fair with the F 015 research vehicle. In the coming year, Rinspeed will present their next automotive design for the car of the future called Oasis in Las Vegas. The mobile of the future is supposed to combine some special solutions for inner-city mobility. As a special contrast to the hostile concrete deserts of the cities, the concept car even drives a green mini oasis in the interior.

What is particularly striking about the compact two-seater is its largely transparent outer skin. Instead of being walled in by sheet metal walls, the passengers sit on comfortable armchairs in a light-flooded glass house. However, a panorama glass roof was dispensed with, instead the roof is paved with solar cells, which should make a small contribution to a better energy balance.

Purely electrically on the move

As befits a car of the future, the Oasis is purely electric. Rinspeed does not provide any further information on the drive technology, but this only seems to be mentioned in passing, because powerful batteries and electric motors are scalable in all dimensions.

Another currently popular topic in the auto industry is the ability to drive autonomously. Rinspeed has not yet given any specific information on this either, but a computer retouching of the Oasis shows a steering wheel, which has been converted into a tray with cup holders in a second image. It is very likely that you can switch from manual to autonomous driving mode in the Oasis.

Windshield as a giant screen

If you let yourself drive, you can enjoy the particularly tidy and cozy interior and devote yourself to the diverse infotainment offers. In addition to huge displays on the dashboard, even the windshield can be used as a giant screen. As with an XXL head-up display, almost all conceivable media worlds can be shown in addition to driving-related information.

Another special feature of the Oasis is its enormous maneuverability, because thanks to the front wheels turning far, it should even be possible to turn the vehicle on the spot. In addition, there is a large code-protected drawer in the rear of the Oasis that can be heated and cooled, thus allowing a range of transport scenarios.
