When the temperatures rise, the classic cars are brought back onto the track. Numerous rallies for and with the old darlings are on offer again this year.

Dozens of vintage car rallies take place every year in Germany and its neighboring countries, each with its own character. Anyone who has always wanted to take part with their own classic should hurry up for this year - the first registration deadlines will expire in the coming weeks.

To help you make a decision, here are five big events this summer. A tip for everyone who wants to drive in their home country: regional classic car clubs know the most beautiful routes even more, and you can often register spontaneously for their day rallies, whose prices start below 100 euros.

Two traditional alpine rallies

The Kitzbühel Alpine Rally has been taking place for 29 years, this year from June 1st to 4th. On the way you are on scenic alpine roads in Tyrol, Salzburg and bordering Bavaria. The field of participants includes many noble bodies and sports cars from past decades. Various celebrities step on the gas themselves at the event around the sophisticated sports city. There are two separate ratings for rally enthusiasts and tourist drivers. The participation fee is 2200 euros, registration deadline April 1st.

The Silvretta Classic Rallye Montafon also takes you through the Alps(July 7th to 10th). 180 old-timers climb the Alpine passes again at the beginning of July. Around 700 kilometers are the most beautiful routes in Vorarlberg, this year into neighboring Switzerland. Cars that were built before December 31, 1976 are permitted, as well as selected youngtimers up to 1996. You can register until March 31, cost: 1890 euros per vehicle with two people (food included in some cases).

The AvD-Histo-Tour (formerly AvD-Heldentour) from August 2nd to 5th combines elements of the tourist tour with regularity evaluations on closed (racing) routes. The tour takes you over the Nürburgring, Zolder, Spa-Francorchamps and Nürburgring Nordschleife Grand Prix racetracks; there are also tests in the Nürburgring and Aldenhoven driving safety centers and on the Veldenz mountain track.

The start is at the Nürburgring, the field of participants in the three days breaks down around 1200 kilometers. The entry fee is 2350 euros for two people in a car, but four nights in a hotel and meals are already included. Entry deadline is July 15th.

As the name suggests, the Sachsen Classic takes place across the Free State from August 18th to 20th. The start is in Zwickau, then it goes through the Ore Mountains to the Czech Republic, Vogtland and the Sachsenring, before the final entry takes place in Chemnitz on the third day. Cars that were built before December 31, 1976 are permitted, as well as selected young timers up to 1996, a total of 180 cars plus 30 classic motorcycles. The entry fee is 1690 euros per vehicle with two people, the entry deadline is April 30th. Hamburg-Berlin classic

takes place in the far north(August 25-27). The start is in the port of Hamburg at the historic fish auction hall. For three days, it goes on the most beautiful secondary routes in northern Germany, with a stop at a hotel in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in the capital. Cars built up to 1996 may take part, but the starting field is limited to 180 vehicles. The entry fee is 1490 euros for a vehicle with two people on board. Registration closes on May 31st. (SP-X)
