Mazda is preparing the MX-5 for the new model year. In addition to meeting the new emissions standard, the cult roadster also received more power and additional assistance systems.
Mazda is making the MX-5 more powerful and cleaner at the same time from August. Thanks to some detail improvements, the 2.0-liter gasoline engine of the roadster now meets the requirements of the upcoming Euro 6d-temp emissions standard without the need for a soot filter.
At the same time, the engine output increases by 24 hp to 135 kW / 184 hp, and the torque increases from 200 to 205 Nm. The standard consumption of 6.9 liters remains constant.

The entry-level engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters also develops a little more power. The petrol engine now delivers 97 kW / 132 PS, one PS more than before, and the torque increases by two to 152 Nm.
Mazda is also expanding its range of assistance systems. Among other things, there is now traffic sign recognition and a reversing camera, and the range of functions of the emergency braking system has been expanded. The manufacturer has not yet announced prices for the new model year MX-5. But they should still start at around 23,000 euros. (SP-X)
