The motorcycle manufacturer BWM is celebrating six premieres at the EICMA in Milan. These include the two maxi scooters, the C600 Sport and C 650 GT.

The Bavarian motorcycle manufacturer BMW is presenting its two new maxi scooters for the first time at the EICMA in Milan: With the BMW C 600 Sport and the C 650 GT, the Munich-based company wants to adapt to the changed mobility needs of its customers, who are increasingly looking for an alternative in the metropolitan areas looking to the car. That is why the “Urban Mobility” division was founded at BMW Motorrad - the two scooters are the first products in this new division. At the IAA in Frankfurt / Main in September, BMW had already presented an electric scooter, but it should not come onto the market until 2014 at the earliest.

If you believe the statements made by BMW in a press release on Tuesday, then the two new premium vehicles in the maxi scooter segment are supposed to combine the "outstanding handling characteristics of a motorcycle with the special agility and comfort of a scooter". As a result, the customer can look forward to a new and dynamic driving experience.

BMW C 600 and C 650 GT for different target groups

Since both scooters are designed differently, different customers should be addressed in this way. While the BMW C 600 Sport is primarily intended for sporty drivers, the C 650 GT is the scooter for customers who value comfort and tour orientation above all else.

Both machines are driven by a two-cylinder in-line engine newly developed by BMW with 647 cubic capacity and an output of 44 kW / 60 PS. The maximum torque of 66 Newton meters is at 6000 tours per minute. The stepless power transmission of the scooters produced in the BMW factory in Berlin is via a CVT transmission. Both machines have two-channel ABS as standard. As BMW announced, the C 600 Sport has a variable storage space concept in which two helmets and other small items can be stowed in the rear. The storage space of the BMW C 650 GT is around 60 liters. (AG / FM)
