This coming weekend, patience is the order of the day on the highways. Days off and Whitsun holidays in three federal states will be used by many drivers for excursions and vacations, so that the highways will get crowded.
The weekend of Pentecost will strain the patience of some drivers. Due to the extended weekend in Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia as well as the start of two-week holidays in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg as well as a week off school in Hamburg, the risk of congestion increases. The ADAC therefore expects lively traffic on the following routes, especially on Friday afternoons as well as on Whit Monday and Tuesday:
• A 1 Cologne - Bremen - Hamburg - Lübeck
• A 2 Dortmund - Hanover - Berlin
• A 3 Passau - Nuremberg - Würzburg - Frankfurt - Cologne - Oberhausen
• A 4 Heerlen / Aachen - Cologne, Bad Hersfeld - Erfurt and Chemnitz - Dresden
• A 5 Hattenbacher Dreieck - Darmstadt - Karlsruhe - Basel
• A 6 Kaiserslautern - Mannheim - Heilbronn - Nuremberg
• A 7 Füssen - Ulm - Würzburg - Kassel - Hanover - Hamburg - Flensburg
• A 8 Karlsruhe - Stuttgart - Munich -Salzburg
• A 9 Munich - Nuremberg - Berlin
• A 10 Berliner Ring
• A 93 Inntaldreieck - Kufstein
• A 95 / B 2 Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen
• A 96 Lindau - Munich
• A 99 Munich bypass
There is also a long weekend in Austria, so that the volume of traffic in the neighboring country will be very high. There are also waiting times at the border when entering Germany. Checks cannot be ruled out at the border crossings from Italy to Austria.
To avoid a possible standstill on the motorway, click on the traffic jam indicator on the Autogazette before starting your journey. This shows all the obstacles on the highways and is updated every five minutes. (AG)
