Honda Comes With A Hybrid Version Of The CR-V

Honda will launch the hybrid version of the new CR-V in early 2019. The conventional variant with turbo gasoline will start in autumn this year.

The fifth generation of the compact SUV has been on the market in the USA since 2017. The hybrid drive combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric drive motor and a separate generator.

A 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine is also available. Both engines can be combined with front-wheel and all-wheel drive.

The CR-V's design has been sharpened

In terms of design, the Honda CR-V remains true to its predecessor, but appears more contoured all around. The front of the vehicle now takes up the current Honda design that emphasizes the width. With an unchanged length of 4.61 meters, the new edition offers significantly more space than its predecessor thanks to the longer wheelbase and wider track. A third row of seats is now optionally available.

Honda has significantly modernized the cockpit: instead of using classic analog instruments, driving-related information is shown on a 7-inch display. In the tidy center console there is also a touchscreen of the same size for the navigation infotainment system.

The CR-V is also equipped with the Sensing sensor system recently introduced in the Civic. The combination of radar and camera enables a range of assistance systems such as emergency braking or cruise control. Honda has not given any information about the price so far. The current model starts with front-wheel drive at around 24,000 euros, the all-wheel drive versions are available from 26,000 euros. (SP-X)
