Volvo was able to lower the values again for the final consumption tests of the Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine. At the same time, the power of the plug-in hybrid SUV has been increased again.

For the upcoming homologation, Volvo has efficiently improved the values of the XC90 T8 Twin Engine. The SUV with plug-in hybrid drive should be satisfied with 2.1 liters of super per 100 kilometers. A consumption of 2.5 liters was previously expected. “We have worked hard to give our customers the ultimate combination of great performance and low fuel consumption. Thanks to the twin engine technology, we can develop efficient drives in a completely new way, said Head of Development Peter Mertens.

Volvo XC90 T8 covers 43 kilometers purely electrically

With the savings in fuel consumption, CO2 emissions also fell by 10 grams to 49 grams. At the same time, the output was increased by seven horsepower, so that the electric motor and gasoline engine now have a system output of 299 kW / 407 hp.

This means that the luxury SUV is 0.3 seconds faster in the three-digit km / h range and needs just 5.6 seconds for the sprint. The electric range has been increased by three kilometers to 43 kilometers. The prices for the seven-seater start at 76,705 euros. (AG / TF)
