Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations division struck a second time. After the F-Type, the entry-level model is now also being pimped by the sporty specialists.
The Jaguar XE was previously “only” available with a V6, now the “Special Vehicle Operations” SVO department is transplanting the 5.0-liter supercharged V8, which also works in the F-Type or Range Rover Sport SVR the limousine.
The result is the XE SV Project 8, a special edition of the XE limited to 300 pieces, which aims to hunt down racer opponents like the BMW M4 GTS or the AMG GT R with plenty of wings, a wider track and 441 kW / 600 PS.
Premiere at Goodwood
The Project 8 is the second special model from the SVO forge, in 2014 there was already the F-Type Project 7. All 300 copies of the XE are handcrafted and should benefit from the extensive race track tests that Jaguar recently carried out with test drives at the Nürburgring Nordschleife has started.
A first dynamic presentation of the Bodybuilder-XE will be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in late June. (SP-X)
