Peugeot paints the refreshed 208 with a new creation. The new structure paint should be easier to maintain and emphasize the shine more.
From June, Peugeot will be offering a new type of special paint for the newly launched small car 208. The so-called textured paint has a slightly grained surface and has a satin matt finish. Initially, the tones "Ice Gray" and "Ice Silver" (only for 208 GTi) are available. The surcharge for painting is 800 euros, which corresponds to an additional price of almost 200 euros compared to conventional metallic painting.
Peugeot premiere with textured paint
According to its own statements, Peugeot is the first large-scale manufacturer to offer textured paint in series. The textured paint should differ from the well-known matt paints on the one hand through its slight gloss, which emphasizes the body lines more, and on the other hand through greater resistance and easier maintenance.
Plastic beads mixed into the paint create the granular effect, while the matt finish is achieved using particles of silicon dioxide. (SP-X)
