The Kia Stonic is getting a new engine and a new transmission variant for the new model year. In the future, an agile turbo three-cylinder will be used in the crossover.
In the small crossover, the 1.4-liter naturally aspirated 99 PS is replaced by a further expansion stage of the 1.0-liter three-cylinder: The 100 PS turbo in the Kia Stonic is more agile than the four-cylinder previously offered and manages the standard 0, 6 seconds faster in now 10.8 seconds. The top speed is now 182 km / h instead of 172.

Power is transmitted via a five-speed manual transmission. In terms of consumption, three-cylinder with an average of 5 liters is a good half a liter below the consumption values of the replaced unit.
Price is at least 18,190 euros
At least 18,190 euros are due for the 100 PS turbo. The more powerful three-cylinder with 120 hp can be ordered in the basic version of the Stonic as an alternative to the manual six-speed gearbox with a seven-speed DSG (surcharge: 1,500 euros). The entry-level engine of the crossover remains unchanged. The 1.2-liter vacuum cleaner with 84 hp is in the price list from 15,990 euros. In addition, Kia offers a 1.6-liter diesel, which is offered with 115 hp and 136 hp.
In the sister model Rio, the 1.4-liter suction gasoline engine is also omitted, so that the 1.2-liter four-cylinder and the 1.0-liter three-cylinder with 100 or 120 hp are available to propel the small car. The seven-speed DSG is now available for all equipment variants in the top unit. The price range for the small car ranges from 12,150 euros in connection with the 84 hp petrol engine to just under 24,000 euros in the version with the 120 hp turbo and the highest equipment line.
Both models are delivered with extensive standard equipment. With the Stonic, for example, this includes an audio system with a 7-inch touchscreen and smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also air conditioning and a Bluetooth hands-free system with voice recognition. In addition, the Stonic rolls on 15-inch alloy wheels and has a start-stop system and 15-inch alloy wheels. A reversing camera and an electric sliding glass roof and 17-inch alloy wheels are optionally available for both models. (SP-X)
