The Chevrolet Trax has achieved the top rating of five stars in the EuroNCAP. The sub-compact SUV from the GM subsidiary has an optimal safety level of 96 percent when it comes to occupant protection.

The Chevrolet Trax just celebrated its premiere at German dealerships on Saturday. With the sub-compact SUV, the GM subsidiary wants to further boost its growth path in Germany. The Trax should account for around 10 to 15 percent of sales in the model mix. The current result of the EuroNCAP should also contribute to achieving this goal.

Trax scratches the highest rating for occupant protection

Because in the results published this Wednesday, the Chevrolet Trax earned the highest rating of five stars. In the individual criteria tested, such as occupant protection (94 percent) and child safety (85 percent), the sub-compact SUV from the GM subsidiary only just missed the top rating of 100 percent. The Trax came to 64 percent for pedestrian protection and 81 percent for assistance systems.

In addition to the Chevrolet Trax, three other models were also tested in the current EuroNCAP.
