These include autonomous driving functions and a side crash detector that raises the flank in the event of an impending impact so that the opposing vehicle does not hit the soft door, but the robust sill.

On the other hand, the S8 is visually rather restrained, only distinguishing itself from the A8 by details on the bumper and side mirrors as well as the silver exterior mirror housings. In China, the USA, Canada and South Korea, the top model can also be recognized by its length. Because only the 5.30 meter long version with a large wheelbase is offered there.
