Anyone who shares their car with other people knows the situation: you get into the car in the morning and your personal settings are gone. VW is now putting an end to that.
The situation is known to everyone who has to share their car with other people: You get into your car and the seat and other personal settings such as the radio station are adjusted. While there is initially a memory function for the seat in higher-priced cars, there was previously no such thing for other features in the volume segment. Volkswagen puts an end to the recurring adjustments, readjustments and readjustments after changing drivers.
The individual settings can be assigned to a user such as Thomas and already activated and assigned with a car key. There is currently such an offer for the VW Arteon, the Golf, Tiguan, Touran, Passat and also the new T-Roc. According to the manufacturer, personalization is available in these vehicles if the model has either a driving profile selection or a memory function for the seat.
VW speaks of simple personalization
According to VW, personalization should prove to be easy. You only need to save your personal settings in your personal driving profile. “If the driver leaves the car, his settings remain on board as a data record. Thanks to the key memory, the settings are automatically retrieved and activated as soon as a driver opens the Volkswagen again with his car key,”it says.
If you accidentally have the wrong key with you, you can also select your profile via the display of the infotainment system or the instrument cluster. Depending on the model, VW offers the option of saving the following information. Seat position, exterior mirrors, air conditioning, ventilation with circulating air and fan level, infotainment and navigation settings, head-up display, multifunctional display, driving profile selection, Park Assist / Park Assist (volume of the signal tones, pitch), Coming Home and Leaving Home and the configurations of the Driver assistance systems such as ACC automatic distance control, pedestrian protection, lane assist, traffic sign recognition, side assist and the blind spot sensor with parking assistant.
