Pogea Racing turns the Abarth 500 into a flying smooch. The Fiat 500, already pimped by the in-house tuner, receives a further boost in performance.
Ares is the name of a new tuning project by Pogea Racing, in which the output of an Abarth 500 is increased to over 400 hp. The little wide-body monster has an impressive look thanks to newly manufactured body parts.
Among other things, the front and rear aprons, the bonnet, the spoiler and the massive wheel arch extensions are baked from carbon. The rest of the body was painted matt black to match the black lightweight material. The massive wheel arches are completely filled with 18-inch wheels thanks to the lowered KW chassis. The rims provide a clear view of the 322 brake discs at the front, which are gripped by six-piston calipers.
Only five vehicles planned
The engine tuning is even more impressive. As with Abarth, Pogea relies on a 1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine, which, however, has been extensively modified. The result of the effort is 297 kW / 404 PS and 445 Newton meters of torque, which fall on the front axle alone. The slip prevents a better sprint value, which the tuner specifies as 4.7 seconds. The one-tonne vehicle should reach a maximum speed of 288 km / h.
The interior has also been pimped up. Leather and Alcantara cover the many plastic parts of the original. In addition, the passengers sit on half-shell seats at the front. All of this naturally has its price: Pogea Racing has to pay around 70,000 euros for an Ares in the basic configuration. The mini edition could be sold out quickly, however, because only five vehicles are to be built. (SP-X)
