Stricter regulations for temporary license plates:From April 1st, temporary license plates will only be allocated if the vehicle that is to be driven with the temporary license plate has undergone a valid general inspection or a safety inspection. Exception: If the journey leads directly to the licensing authority or the HU test.

(Tax) advantages for electric cars: From mid-2015, electric cars are to receive advantages in road traffic, free parking and the use of bus lanes are provided. If you want to buy an electric car, you should use the ten-year tax exemption until December 2015: From 2016, e-vehicles will only be tax exempt for five years. For these advantages, the government has introduced an electric mobility law.

Route radar is coming

Stricter limit values: From September 1, 2015, gasoline and diesel engines in newly registered cars must meet the limit values of the Euro 6 emission class. In the case of diesel engines, the limit for nitrogen oxide emissions is reduced by 50 percent compared to Euro 5 to 80 milligrams per kilometer.

Lightning is provided by route radar: Lower Saxony is testing a new method of catching speeding offenders on federal highway 6 near Hanover from spring. In this pilot project, known in the technical jargon as "section control", the speed is measured on longer sections of the route, each vehicle is recorded at the beginning and at the end of the radar route, and the average speed driven is calculated from this.
