The fully electric study ID. Buggy represents a new facet of the modular electric drive kit (MEB) with which the beach buggy from the 60s and 70s is to be revived. “The technical principle of the MEB is convincing. Size, battery and drive are scalable. We can therefore combine these variably in different models in different segments and meet customer requirements. The ID. Buggy is fascinating proof of this,”says Development Director Frank Welsch.
Eighth generation of the VW Passat
The eighth generation of the Passat combines the brand's latest innovations. With the “Travel Assist”, the mid-range Volkswagen is the first Volkswagen to be able to drive partially automatically at almost any speed from 0 to 210 km / h. The capacitive steering wheel is also new in the Passat. It registers the driver's touch and thus forms an interactive interface to systems such as "Travel Assist".
Spring will prove that the success story has continued. Then the Passat breaks the production barrier of 30 million copies. This makes it the world's most successful mid-range model.
Full power with the T-Roc R and Touareg
The T-Roc R underlines the high-performance ambitions of the Wolfsburg-based company. The well-known four-cylinder TSI engine with a displacement of 2.0 liters and 221 kW / 300 PS and a torque of 400 Nm is implanted in the crossover. The sprint is completed within 4.9 seconds, and the electronics intervene at 250 km / h.
VW has also trimmed the Touareg for performance. The flagship receives the V8 TDI with 310 kW / 421 PS and 900 Nm. This makes the eight-cylinder the most powerful diesel SUV from a German automobile manufacturer.
