Seat makes its mid-size SUV even more attractive. The seven-seater is now also available with front-wheel drive and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

So far, the Spanish car manufacturer has only offered the Tarraco in combination with front-wheel drive and manual six-speed gearshift or with all-wheel drive and fully automatic direct-shift transmission.

The SUV is now also available as a 1.5 TSI variant with 150 PS and a seven-speed DSG. With this engine-transmission combination, Seat wants to address fleet customers in particular and continue on its growth path. This new variant is intended to encourage customers who do not necessarily want all-wheel drive to buy.

Sporty driving performance

The now offered 1.5 TSI variant of the Tarraco offers extremely sporty driving performance. It sprints to 100 km / h in just 9.5 seconds, and the top speed is 198 km / h. The maximum torque is 250 Nm between a speed range of 2500 to 3500 revolutions. The fuel consumption should be between 7.1 and 8 liters.

The Tarraco 1.5 TSI will initially be offered in the equipment variants Style and Xcellence, with buyers being able to choose between a five- and seven-seater. According to the manufacturer, the Tarraco will also be available as an FR and plug-in hybrid version from next year. Seat is continuing its electric offensive with the PHEV variant. At the beginning of next year, the Spaniards will be launching the Mii electric, a small electric car with a range of 260 kilometers. The price for the Mii electric is less than 21,000 euros before deduction of the purchase premium, which increases from 4000 euros to 6000 euros.

Seat with strong growth

SUVs are currently among the most popular models. In addition to the Tarraco, Seat also offers its customers the Ateca and the Arona city SUV. This model is also available as a natural gas variant. Seat tries to promote the sale of natural gas models with a so-called equal price strategy. Seat was able to increase its sales in October with 9800 new registrations compared to the same month last year by 21 percent. According to figures from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), the growth in the first ten months of the year was almost 119,000 new registrations, an increase of 13.7 percent.
