Mercedes has now completely reunited its leisure and camper trio. With the Marco Polo Activity comes the last variant.
After the Marco Polo variants were entered into the race as a fully equipped camper van as well as a slimmed-down Horizon version with the facelift of the V-Class last year, the Marco Polo Activity recreational vehicle is now following suit.

In contrast to its two big brothers, the Activity is based on the Mercedes Vito commercial vehicle variant, which has now been given a fresh cell treatment. With a base price of 43,000 euros, it represents the entry into the compact, leisure-oriented model family.
No MBUX for the entry-level variant
The intelligent multimedia system MBUX is not intended for the simplest Marco Polo version, but even after the facelift. And the central operating system MBAC, which is also available in the camper version, isn't anyway. After all, the Activity is designed for young families and people who are active in leisure time, who need a lot of storage space due to extensive sports and outdoor equipment and are looking for the greatest possible independence.
For the latter, the three-seat bench and bench in the second row, which can be converted into a generous bed across the entire width of the car, as well as the upper floor under the pop-up roof, which provides sleeping space for two more people. The Activity can be ordered from the standard five-seater to the seven-seater.
Even without MBUX, the infotainment in the refreshed Mercedes van is updated. For example, the Marco Polo Activity offers digital radio reception (DAB +) for all radio options for clear and interference-free playback. The more expensive versions also have Bluetooth with hands-free function up to a 7-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration for Apple and Android.
All new features of the Vito included
New ventilation nozzles in turbine look, also in chrome on request, and piano lacquer in the dashboard further enhance the interior. Externally, the facelift can be recognized by the newly designed radiator grille.
Technically, the entry-level Marco Polo benefits from all the new features of the Vitos. If you are in a particularly hurry to get to the quarry pond or the mountains for a weekend trip, you can opt for the new top 300d engine. A 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 239 hp and 500 Nm torque works here, which can briefly provide a further 30 Nm when accelerating via "overtorque". The power diesel provides a top speed of 210 km / h and sprints to 100 km / h in 7.9 seconds. NEDC consumption is specified at 6.0 - 6.6 l / 100 km.
The optimized 2.0-liter diesel with the designation OM 654 is also available in the output levels 136 HP, 163 HP and 190 HP, always with rear-wheel or optional all-wheel drive, optionally also with the new nine-speed automatic. Air suspension with level control can also be ordered for all 2.0 liter engines at an additional cost. At the base, however, the 1.7-liter turbodiesel with 102 hp in combination with front-wheel drive and manual six-speed gearbox remains. But even in this variant, it should rarely stay at the base price of 43,000 euros. (SP-X)
